About the Meet-up

A fellow private investor and I were discussing the lack of quality value/small-cap meetups in the Netherlands and the broader Benelux region, and how envious we were of US investors who have a wide range of such events available. Rather than just wishing for more options, we decided to take matters into our own hands and create the kind of meetup we’ve been looking for.

So, here it is - the first Benelux Small Cap Event! Our goal is to bring together a small group of like-minded investors in an informal way to exchange ideas about stocks and network in a relaxed setting. The meetup will take place in the Vault of the Gold Bar in The Hague, a venue steeped in financial history, now serving as the ideal venue for investors looking to discover untapped potential.

Hugo — The vault where the event will take place

As mentioned, the main focus will be on networking and dialogue, so we’ve designed the agenda to allow plenty of time for that. Doors will open at 15:00 for the walk-in, and we’ll kick things off with a general introduction around 15:45. Following that, we’ve set aside 1 hour for stock pitches, where anyone interested can present their favorite ideas followed by a short round of Q&A (per pitch). Afterward, the rest of the afternoon will be dedicated to mingling with fellow investors, accompanied by cocktails from the Gold Bar.

About the Venue

The event will be held at the Indigo Hotel, located at Noordeinde 33, right in the heart of The Hague, adjacent to the Royal Palace. The hotel is housed in a historic bank building dating back to 1883, with many of its original details beautifully preserved. Recently, the hotel underwent an elegant refurbishment, embracing the opulent style of the Roaring Twenties.

As part of the building's banking history, there is an old vault beneath the hotel. The Indigo team transformed this vault and the surrounding rooms into a sophisticated Art Nouveau-style speakeasy, aptly named The Gold Bar—a nod to the secretive bars of the American Prohibition era in the 1920s. For our event, we have private access to the Vault, with additional tables reserved in the main Gold Bar area for our extended networking.

The Vault and Gold Bar are situated beneath the Indigo Hotel and can be accessed via the lobby through a wide staircase. The hotel itself is easy to reach, whether on foot or via public transport from The Hague Central Station. For those arriving by car, there are several parking options nearby. The most convenient is Q-Park Noordeinde, located just a few minutes' walk from the hotel.
